About Toolbay

Toolbay is a set of free calculators and word lists. No accounts, no sign-up, nothing to install. Open a page, get an answer, leave.

Who makes it

Toolbay is built and run by James Burfield, who has worked in SEO and web for years and builds tools he wanted to exist. There is no team behind the curtain and no editorial board. One person builds it, and that person is happy to be told when something is wrong.

How we think about tools

A tool should give you a straight answer and show its working. Plenty of calculators hand you a number with no way to check it, which is fine until the number is wrong and you have no idea why.

So every tool page here does three things: gives the answer, explains the method in plain terms, and names the source of any data it relies on. If you want to see exactly how a figure is produced, read how we build these.

What we do not do

• No sign-up, no accounts, no newsletter.
• No storing what you type. The calculators run in your browser and the dates you enter never reach a server.
• No pretending to expertise we do not have. These are utilities. They win on being accurate and open about their method, not on credentials.

Corrections

If a tool gives a wrong answer, or a word list is missing something obvious, tell us and it gets fixed. Get in touch.
