Toolbay is built and run by one person. That is me, and this page exists so the name on the tools resolves to somebody you can check rather than sitting there as an assertion.

What I actually do

I have worked in SEO and on the web for more than 25 years, and I build tools I wanted to exist. Every calculator here is written by me, every statutory figure on it was fetched from gov.uk rather than remembered, and the date it was last checked is printed on the page that uses it.

You can see the working on how we build these, and every rate the site relies on is collected with its source on the UK statutory rates page.

What I am not

I am not a tax adviser, an accountant or an employment lawyer, and nothing here is advice. That matters more than a credential would, because it tells you where the authority on these pages actually comes from: not from me, but from the gov.uk sources named on every tool and the date each one was checked.

Where gov.uk contradicts itself, which it does, the rates page says so and shows both figures. That is the honest version of expertise on a site like this one.

When something is wrong

Rates move, and pages go stale. If you find a figure that has changed before I have caught it, tell me and it gets fixed. Corrections are the fastest route to a site being right, and I would rather hear it from you than leave it wrong.
