Why some letters are short
English is lopsided. S, C and P run to hundreds of everyday words, while X, Z and Q have very few, so those lists are shorter and lean more on names and borrowed words. That is the language, not a gap in the list.
Every list is filtered to real dictionary words and ranked by how often each one appears in written English, so useful words sit at the top instead of being buried under rarities. The method is written up in full.
